Bangladesh Chhatra Union of Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit has revealed a draft roadmap to reopen all universities in the country by March instead of 17 May.

They came up with the roadmap in a press conference on Monday afternoon.

They said, "All educational institutions across the county have been closed for nearly one year. It is not rational to keep universities closed when all the organisations across the country are running normally. As a result, students are falling behind in their academic activities."

There are a total of 1,36,000 students in the residential halls of various universities across the country. It doesn't need three months to bring them under Covid-19 vaccination drive, they mentioned.

"We hope that the government, in collaboration with the National Committee on Covid-11, will prepare a roadmap to reopen the universities by March instead of 17 May," they said.

"It doesn't need more than seven days to vaccinate all the students, teachers, and staff of JU. The university administration will take necessary measures to resolve the crisis of students and reopen the university soon," they hoped.
