Joint exercise of Bangladesh and US naval forces begins

The exercise is being conducted under the supervision of commander Bangladesh Navy fleet.

A naval exercise between Bangladesh and US navies kicked off in Chattogram on Sunday, titled "Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT).

At a press conference, Commander of Bangladesh Navy Fleet, Rear Admiral Nazmul Hassan and US Navy Rear Admiral Murray Joe Tynch III, the commander of Logistics Group Western Pacific/Task Force 73 spoke about the joint exercise. 

The aim of the joint exercise is to enhance the existing bilateral relations between the naval forces of the two countries, as well as to gain a better understanding of the operational activities of the two countries' navies, and increase their capability and acquaintance with advanced technology.

The exercise is being conducted under the supervision of commander Bangladesh Navy fleet.

Members of the US Navy and Naval Aviation, including a fleet of naval aircraft, participated in a number of exercises alongside the members of Bangladesh Navy.

The press conference informed the exercise is the largest naval exercise between Bangladesh and US navies.
