Jashore youth gets life term in narcotics case
Milon was arrested from Jashore on October 5, 2017
A Jashore court on Thursday sentenced a youth to life term imprisonment and fined him Tk10,000 for possession of heroin.
The convict, identified as Milon Gazi, is a resident of South Sonabaria village in Satkhira's Kolaroa upazila.
Jashore District and Session Judge Iftiarul-e-Islam handed down the verdict.
According to the prosecution, police arrested Milon in front of a rice mill in Bagachra, Jashore on October 5, 2017 with one kilogram of heroin in his bag.
Later, Sub-Inspector Sazzadur Rahman filed a case under the Narcotics Control Act with the Sharsha Police Station.
After examining witnesses and evidence, the judge found Milon guilty and pronounced the verdict.
