Indians kill Bangladeshi cattle trader near Chuadanga border

A Bangladeshi cattle trader succumbed to injuries early today after he was stabbed and beaten by some locals in Hudapara area of India.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Gani, son of Abu Taher, of Chakulia village in Chuadanga.
Locals caught Gani after he, along with six to seven other traders, entered Hudapara area of West Bengal to bring cattle illegally through main pillar 87 near Chakulia border in Bangladesh, said Director of Border Gaurd of Bangladesh (BGB) 6 Battalion in Chuadanga Lt Col Khaliquzzaman.
"Gani was stabbed and beaten mercilessly, and was left near the border," he said.
The fellow traders rescued Gani and rushed him to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital where he died in the morning.
His body was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
Khaliquzzaman said the other traders managed to flee and return to Bangladesh.
BGB has sent a letter to India's Border Security Force (BSF) protesting the incident.
