‘The Incredibles’ wins BizMaestros 2020

Competing with 145 teams from 25 universities across Bangladesh, 'The Incredibles' has won the 11th edition of Unilever Bangladesh Limited's flagship business case competition "BizMaestros 2020".

The team consisting of Sadia Hasan, Marzina Akhter Prottasha and Sajid Asbat Khandaker from the Institute of Business Administration of University of Dhaka (DU), will now represent Bangladesh at the global platform of Unilever Future Leaders' League (FLL) 2020 in London, read a press release.

The champions of BizMaestros 2020 will also be forwarded in the recruitment process of Unilever's Management Trainee Programme, Unilever Future Leader's Programme (UFLP). In addition, they will also be getting an opportunity to work on a short-term project at Unilever Consumer Care Ltd.

Meanwhile, the first runner up title went to Team Mudblood, consisting of Mayesha Raidah, Tamim Islam and Md Nafis Khan from the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). Team Bus-Hawks consisting of Aahnaf Aakif, Adiba Haque Ahona and Syeda Saima Hossain from Institute of Business Administration, DU won the title of second runner up.

The awarding ceremony was hosted virtually on 12 November, where six finalists were evaluated by a panel of esteemed industry experts. The panel includeds Asif Saleh, executive director of Brac Bangladesh, Robert Simpson, FAO representative in Bangladesh, KSM Minhaj, managing director of Unilever Consumer Care Limited, and Kedar Lele, chairman and managing Director of Unilever Bangladesh.

Registrations for the competition went live on 4 October, where final year students had to form a group of three and come up with three big ideas for Unilever to improve health and wellbeing of Bangladesh. The teams then submitted their solutions in the form of videos. After thorough assessment, top 30 teams were forwarded to the semi-finals.

The theme for the semi-final round was "Channels of the Future" where the teams were challenged to come up with solutions to leverage emerging channels to grow the business and serve Bangladeshi shoppers better.

Isildur's Bane from Institute of Business Administration, DU, Sonic from BRAC University and Northern Lights from BUP were also the finalists along with The Incredibles, Team Mudblood, and Team Bus-Hawks.
