Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal emphasised over increasing the rate of inclusion of mass people in formulating any plan for the country's development.

He was addressing an event "The Role of Mass Media in Development" on Sunday at the NEC conference room in the capital.

"Planning would not bring any positive outcome if they, for whom the planning is, are not included there," he said.

People have become benefited by the continuity of the government since 2009, said the minister adding that the size of our economy will exceed that of many other countries like Malaysia, Singapore by 2024.

Planning Minister MA Mannan was also present at the event.

He said that the people's expectation to the present government has gone up. They want to see development more than ever.

Shushanta Sinha, a private television journalist, presented the key note during the programme.

He said that the mass media has been cooperating the government by disclosing information on revenue dodging, corruption and loan defaulting.

National Press Club President Saiful Alam spoke at the event and Planning Division's Secretary Nurul Amin, member of General Economy Division Dr Shamsul Alam, IMED Secretary Mansur Md Faizallah, ERD Secretary Fatima Yasmin and members of Planning Commission were present among others.
