iDEA launches four-day Startup Incubation Programme in Rangpur

60 young entrepreneurs from 30 start-ups of Rangpur division will participate in this free mentoring programme

The Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division has launched a four-day "Startup Incubation Programme" in Rangpur on Saturday.

The activities of Startup Rangpur were launched through this programme as well.

According to a press release, the incubation programme will continue till 30 March at the RCCI Auditorium of the Rangpur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) building.

60 young entrepreneurs from 30 selected start-ups of the division have been given the opportunity to participate in this free mentoring programme, it added.

On the first day of the programme, entrepreneurs were trained about design challenges, pitch decks, ways to solve several problems related to start-ups, the press release noted.

On Sunday, entrepreneurs will be mentored on different issues including market size and segment of start-ups, revenue projection, revenue model, implementation plan, mission and vision, team formation, competition, etc.

Plans for the third day of the programme includes pitch practice, pitch refinement, demo-day-style of pitching, while the event will come to a conclusion on Tuesday for Rangpur division.

The event is being organised by Rangpur district administration and Startup Rangpur. It is being implemented by Management and Training International Limited. Besides, Better Stories is the training partner of the programme.

Md Ibrahim Khan, director (joint secretary), local government of Rangpur and Mostofa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu, president of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) were present at the programme's inaugural ceremony as special guests.

Another special guest, Syed Mojibul Huq, former director of iDEA project and additional secretary, and RHM Alaol Kabir, senior consultant at iDEA project delivered speeches on the occasion by virtually joining the programme.

Shahnaj Begum, ADC (Education and ICT), Rangpur presided over the function.

The guests of the event thanked the young entrepreneurs for participating in the programme.
