Holy Ashura on Sept 10

The holy Ashura, commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hossain (RA), grandson of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), will be observed in the country on September 10.

The National Moon Sighting Committee took the decision at a meeting as the new moon of Muharram, the first month of Hijri 1441, was sighted in the country, said Islamic Foundation.

State Minister for Religious Affairs and chairman of the National Moon Sighting Committee Alhaj Advocate Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah chaired the meeting held at the Islamic Foundation meeting room at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
