The governing body election is scheduled to be held on October 25

The High Court has issued a ruling, seeking explanation on why the candidacy cancellation of Dr Farhana Khanom, Mujibur Rahman Hawladar and Mustari Sultana in the Viqarunnisa Noon School & College governing body election should not be declared illegal.

The High Court bench of justices Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Khandaker issued the ruling on Tuesday.

Advocate Abdul Motin Khasru and Barrister Tania Amir stood for the three candidates, while Deputy Attorney General Saifuddin Khaled represented the state.

Speaking to the reporters, the deputy attorney general said, "The Viqarunnisa Noon School & College governing body election appeal board on October 10 cancelled the candidacy of the three people.

"The trio then filed a writ petition with the High Court challenging the legality of the candidacy cancellation."

The governing body election is scheduled to be held on October 25.
