Hefazat-e-Islam leader Mamunul Haque also said, "There little scope for concealing the truth to please a wife, to make her happy."

Hefazat-e Islam Joint Secretary General Mamunul Haque said he would file a case against those who had brought his personal conversations and issues before the public.

"I should not have visited the Royal Resort that day, careless, and without ensuring safety. I have to suffer due to my personal negligence and failure to take action. I will file a case against them for violating my personal privacy," said Mamunul on Facebook live on Thursday, reports daily Prothom Alo.

On April 3, local government supporters surrounded Mamunul Haque for staying with a woman at the Royal Resort in Sonargaon, Narayanganj. He said that day, the woman he was with was his second wife. He got married two years ago. According to some leaked phone conversations, Mamunul Haque's first wife did not know about the second marriage. Apart from that, Mamunul did not say his wife's name correctly at the resort.

Five days after the incident, Mamunul Haque came live and said, "I have had more than one marriage." He claimed that according to Islamic law and the law of Bangladesh, there is no barrier to polygamy.

Referring to his multiple marriages, Mamunul said a man can have four marriages. Is it anyone's business if one has four marriages?

Mamunul Haque blamed the police for the incident that day. He also blamed leaders and workers of the local ruling party. He said no action was being taken against those responsible.

Hefazat-e-Islam leader Mamunul Haque also said, "There little scope for concealing the truth to please a wife, to make her happy."
