Harun Izhar, former education and cultural secretary of the dissolved Hefazat-e-Islam, has been arrested early Thursday from Chattogram's Lalkhan Bazar Madrasa.
A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) raided the madrasa and arrested him along with others, confirmed Md Osman, personal secretary of Harun.
However, no confirmation was made from RAB as Public Relation officer of RAB-7 did not receive phone while contacted upon.
Ten cases have been filed against 6000 people over the mayhem caused by Hefazat activists in Chattogram's Hathazari and Patiya during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
So far, 40 leaders have been arrested in these cases.
