Hefazat assistant secretary general Ataullah arrested

Hefazat leader Ataullah Amin is accused of a case filed in 2013, according to sources.

Members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested Maulana Ataullah Amin, assistant secretary general of Hefazat-e-Islam's central committee, from Mohammadpur area in the capital on Tuesday midnight.

He is also the joint secretary general of Bangladesh Khilafah Majlis.

In the morning, the director of the intelligence branch of the RAB, Lt Colonel Khairul Islam confirmed the arrest, reports Jago News.

Hefazat leader Ataullah Amin is accused of a case filed in 2013, according to sources.

The law enforcements arrested two leaders including Ataullah Amin the day after the top leaders met the Home Minister as part of an attempt to reach a compromise with the government.
