Hearing on Minni’s bail plea deferred

Earlier on July 30, a Barguna court rejected her bail petition in the same case.

The High Court (HC) has deferred till August 8 the hearing on the bail petition of Aysha Siddika Minni, wife of the slain Barguna youth Rifat Sharif.

The HC bench of justices Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain and Md Mustafizur Rahman fixed the date on Tuesday.

Deputy Attorney General Rezaul Karim stood for the state, while Minni’s lawyer advocate ZI Khan Panna was also present in the court.

The petition was filed on Monday.

Earlier on July 30, a Barguna court rejected her bail petition in the same case.

On July 16, police arrested Minni in connection with the murder of her husband Rifat and later a court placed her on a five-day remand.

On July 18, Barguna Superintendent of Police (SP) Maruf Hossain told reporters that Minni had confessed to her involvement in Rifat’s murder.
