Sufficient Azithromycin in stock to fight corona: Drug Administration DG

The Directorate General of Drug Administration has enough stock of Azithromycin to fight the novel coronavirus, said its Director General Major General Md Mahbubur Rahman.

"The government also exempted all import taxes on 12 items related to coronavirus to expedite the import process," the DG said in a briefing today. 

Major General Md Mahbubur Rahman also said, "Different private hospitals are importing coronavirus medicines too. We got the medicine as aid. These medicines will remain in the stock of the government and health directorate will distribute those if any hospital needs."  

"Don't take any medicine without consulting with any doctor. You can reach specialist over phone or doctor's portal," he added.
