“Each of the patients will receive Tk50,000 in allowance from deputy commissioners of their respective districts within a month,” Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed told reporters

Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed on Sunday said from now on patients suffering from different chronic diseases, including cancer, liver cirrhosis, and stroke paralysis, will get state allowance from their own districts.

“Each of the patients will receive Tk50,000 in allowance from deputy commissioners of their respective districts within a month,” Nuruzzaman told reporters after attending the Deputy Commissioners’ Conference-2019 at the cabinet division auditorium.

“We have not selected anyone for this allowance, considering his/her political affiliation” he said, adding: “The government will provide the allowance to people who qualify for it”.
