‘68% of Dhaka city dwellers suffered from illness in November’

The lower-income people spent 67 percent of their monthly incomes on treatments

A research shows that 68 percent of Dhaka city residents suffered from different kinds of illnesses in November.

Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) revealed the information at a city hotel today.

The BIDS conducted the study titled 'A Glimpse into the Lives of Dhaka City Dwellers.'

"Around 40 percent of the dwellers suffered from acute illness while 22 percent from chronic diseases," said Abdur Razzaque Sarker, one of the researchers.

The lower-income people spent 67 percent of their monthly incomes on treatments, according to the study.
