Health Minister returns, press conference postponed

Health Minister Zahid Malik returned to the country at around 1am, in the early hours of Thursday.

The health minister was supposed to attend a press conference regarding the dengue situation on Thursday noon.

However, the press conference was postponed for unknown reasons, said the public relation officer of the Health Ministry. 

Earlier, the health minister inaugurated a new ward consisting of 100 beds for dengue patients at Mitford Hospital, said Maidul Islam, PRO of the Health Ministry.

The health minister was on a personal visit to Malaysia amid the worsening dengue situation throughout the country. He was supposed to return to the country on August 4, but came back yesterday in the face of criticism.
