HC: What steps taken after Kulaura train crash?

The High Court (HC) has asked for a written explanation from the railway director general about the steps taken after the Upaban Express accident in the  Kulaura area of Moulvibazar last June.

After a hearing on the writ petition on Monday, the HC bench of Justice Mainul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md Ashraful Kamal ordered the DG of Bangladesh Railways to submit the explanation by October 24.

The writ petition was filed by a resident of Moulvibazar and Supreme Court lawyer Foyez Uddin Ahmed as a public interest litigation.

Four people were killed and more than 100 injured on June 23 when the intercity train Upaban Express derailed in the Baramchal area of Kulaura upazila in Moulvibazar.
