HC denies bail for DIG Mizan’s nephew
The HC also ordered investigation into the income sources of DIG Mizan’s nephew Mahmudul Hasan
The High Court has rejected an appeal for anticipatory bail for the nephew of suspended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mizanur Rahman, who is being investigated in a corruption case.
The High Court bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam and Justice KM Hafijul Alam on Monday also ordered investigation into the income sources of DIG Mizan’s nephew Mahmudul Hasan.
On June 24, the Anti-Corruption Commission filed a case against DIG Mizan, his wife Sohelia Anar Ratna and nephew Mahmudul Hasan on charges of amassing over Tk3 crore beyond known sources of income.
Deputy Attorney General AKM Aminuddin Manik represented the statein Monday’s hearing. ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan and plaintiff’s lawyer Rabiul Alam Budu were present in court.
