GPH Ispat's security guard crushed under its truck

The process is underway to compensate the deceased’s family members, the company says

A security guard of GPH Ispat was killed and another injured after being crushed under the wheels of a truck at the company's warehouse in Chattogram on Tuesday.

Baran Kumar Tripura was discharging duty inside the warehouse of the steel manufacturing company in Sitakunda upazila at noon.

At that time, the driver of one of the trucks of GPH Ispat lost his control over the steering and entered into the check post, leaving Baran dead on the spot and another injured.

GPH Ispat's media adviser Mohammad Osman Gani Chowdhury told The Business Standard said, "The incident is gravely unexpected. As per the company rules, the process is underway to pay compensation to the family members of the deceased."

 "The injured security guard, Millat Hossian, has been admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital," Sitakunda Model Police Station officer in charge Tofael Ahmed told TBS.

When contacted, Abdullah Al Shakib Mubarat, deputy inspector general of Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishment, Chattogram, was not available for comment regarding the incident.
