In the event that any agency fails to resubmit the money to the Ministry on time, their license will be immediately cancelled

The government has decided to return 50 percent of the security money submitted by Hajj and Umrah agencies due to the coronavirus situation in the country.

The decision has been taken following a request from the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB).

However, the fund will be returned for a year if some conditions are met, read a press release issued by the Haj Section under the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Tuesday.

Hajj and Umrah agencies who will get the 50 percent fund or Tk10 lakh back have to refund the money to the ministry by December next year.

The agencies have to apply for the fund between October 15 to November 11 this year.

In the event that any agency fails to resubmit the money to the Ministry on time, their license will be immediately cancelled.

Also, agencies whose licenses have already been revoked or who have failed to submit their applications to the Ministry, or those that have any litigations against them will not be eligible for the facility.
