The Anti-Corruption Commission on Tuesday detained an official of Import and Export Controller Office in Chattogram for allegedly taking bribe.

The detainee is Md Al Mamud Hossain, an assistant controller of the Office of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports.

During a drive, a team of six members led by ACC Assistant Director Humayun Kabir caught him red-handed while he was taking Tk15,000 in bribe from Azimul Islam who came to the office for acquiring a license.

A case has been filed against Al Mamud under Anti-Corruption Commission law, said ACC Assistant Director Raton Kumar.
