Gold prices down in country

Jewellers in the country have slashed the prices of per gram of gold of all grades by Tk100.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (Bajus) said that the prices have been revised in accordance with a slight fall in the prices of the yellow metal in the international market.   

The new prices will be effective from September 11, the statement said.

After the latest revise, consumers will have to pay Tk4,875 for each gram of 22-carat gold, Tk4,675 for 21-carat, and Tk4,245 for each gram of 18-carat gold.  

The revised price for each gram of gold, calculated on traditional method, is Tk2,500.

Furthermore, the price of each gram of 21-carat (cadmium) silver has remained unchanged at Tk80.

The new prices will remain effective until further notice.
