A glimpse of Radisson Blu Wedding Fest

Some are decorating hands and feet with intricate patterns with the application of henna, while others are busy in choosing dresses, jewelleries and cosmetics. A stage is being set up nearby, and guests are being greeted warmly. The total compound is abuzz with activity, and the phenomenal wedding musical soirees are adding a festive mood to it.

The Bay View Mejban Hall of the Radisson Blu Chattogram apparently turns into a wedding fest. The two-day-long wedding expo began at the five-star hotel on Friday. A total of 54 organisations are taking part in the show.

The wedding fair has numerous stalls, including boutique houses, photography-cinematography, travel agencies, hotels and event management firms.

The stalls, that drew a handsome crowd, showcased wedding dresses, shoes, ornaments and furniture of varied sorts. Visitors strolled around the outlets and browsed products and services. They were busy in acquiring ideas of a perfect wedding ceremony and did shopping as well.

The expo started revving up with the crowd soon after the inauguration on Friday morning. Size of the gathering got bigger with the clock ticking by. Wedding gate, band party and horse carriage — everything was there giving the real feelings of a Bengali wedding.

The organisers said they are offering numerous sales and gifts. The visitors are also happy finding everything of a wedding ceremony under the single roof. 

A banker couple – Asaduzzaman and Munia, who came to the expo, were regretting that their wedding could be more festive if they knew about such exhibition.

"Although we have tied the knot, we may use the experience of the fair for others," they chuckled. In the meantime, Takrima Afrin Mumu was choosing a dress with her fiancé.

"Our wedding is slated for the winter. It is a family arranged one. However, this fair gives us a chance to bring some changes to their planning and ideas," Mumu added.

The fair will remain open from 10am to 9pm with an entry fee of Tk50 per person. The Radisson and Violet Incorporation are jointly hosting the fourth edition of the fair.

Chief Executive Officer of the Violet Incorporation ABM Khaled Mahmud said wedding management requires lots of effort and time. As demands of people are changing, wedding festivals are adding or subtracting many bits. 

"Considering these, they have brought everything here," he added. Radisson Blu Bay View Marketing and Communications Officer Rahfat Salman said their target is to supply everything for a wedding ceremony.

"Customers always prefer something different. And this event is to meet their demands," he concluded.
