Full judgment of BDR mutiny released

On February 25-26 2009, a total of 74, including 57 army officials, were killed during the mutiny that took place at BDR Pilkhana headquarters in Dhaka.

The High Court today released the 29 thousand pages full judgement of the sensational BDR carnage case.

The convicts can file appeals with the Appellate Division within thirty days challenging the High Court verdict on them.

On February 25-26 2009, a total of 74, including 57 army officials, were killed during the mutiny that took place at BDR Pilkhana headquarters in Dhaka.

On November 5, 2013, a Dhaka court awarded death sentence to 150 BDR members and two civilians, and life imprisonment to 160 others in the case.

Later, on November 27, 2017, the HC bench of Justice Md Shawkat Hossain, Justice Md Abu Zafar Siddiqui and Justice Nazrul Islam Talukder upholded the death penalty to 139 accused.

The bench also sentenced 185 accused with life term, while 200 others got various jail sentences. The court also acquitted 45 accused from all charges.
