Mizanur tried to get on the train when it was leaving the platform thus fell off under the wheels.

Former Khulna University teacher crushed under train

A former teacher of Khulna University was crushed under the wheels of Benapole-bound train on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Professor Dr Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan, 66.

"Mizanur tried to get on the train when it was leaving the platform around 6:45am," said Md Fayezur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Khulna GRP (Railway) police station.

His hands and legs were cut off under the wheels when he slipped and died on the spot, the OC added.

His body was sent to the morgue of Khulna Hospital for autopsy.

A case of unnatural death was filed in this connection.
