Five ‘robbers’ held with firearms in Chattogram

Police arrested them while they were preparing to conduct a robbery in the Bayezid Bostami area
Police arrested five alleged robbers with firearms in Bayezid Bostami area of Chattogram early Friday.
The arrestees are Ruhul Amin, 21, Zabed Prokash, 31, Abdul Kader Sujon, 29, Tuhin Prokash Tufan, 28 and Raihan Ahmed, 20.
Assistant Police Commissioner of Bayezid Bostami Zone Paritran Talukder said based on secret information a team of police conducted a drive at Bayezid Bostami and arrested the five while they were preparing to conduct robbery in the area.
Police seized five guns, five rounds of cartridge, a knife and two machetes from their possessions, he said.
Two cases-- one for robbery and another under Arms Act -- were filed in this connection.
