Fire safety expo to begin Feb 13
The fair aims at consumers’ easy access to firefighting equipment and services
The three-day Fire Safety and Security Expo-2020 will begin in the capital on February 13, aiming at consumers' easy access to firefighting equipment and services.
The Electronics Safety and Securities Association of Bangladesh is organising the seventh edition of the event at the Bangabandhu international conference centre with the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense as the co-partner.
A total of 75 stalls, including that of 25 foreign brands, will showcase their fire safety equipment and services, Motahar Hosen Khan, president of the Electronics Safety and Securities Association of Bangladesh, said at a press conference on Sunday.
He said, "The main objective of the exposition is to bridge fire safety equipment users and manufacturers. This will make access to the fire safety equipment and services market easy."
"Moreover, the display will help build social awareness," he noted.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi will inaugurate the expo as the chief guest while Fire Service Director General Brig Gen Md Sazzad Hussain, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry President Sheikh Fazle Fahim and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association President Rubana Huq will be present as special guests.
The expo will have four seminars titled "Budget-Fire Safety & Security", "Digital Bangladesh and Smart City", "Awareness & Importance of AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract)" and "Electrical, Gaseous & Chemical Safety".
A roundtable titled "Fire Safety Issues in Bangladesh: Challenges & Way Forward" will also be held on the concluding day of the fair.
