Fire at Chawkbazar’s polythene factory

A fire broke out at a polythene factory in the capital's Chawkbazar area at around 10:25am on Thursday.

"Being informed, six firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control," said Lima Khanom, control room officer of the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence.

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately. Besides, no casualties and damages have been reported yet.  

Earlier, a massive fire broke out at Nanda Kumar Lane in Chawkbazar's Churihatta area of Old Dhaka on February 20, 2019.

A total of 71 people were killed and many more injured in the devastating fire that originated from a building named Wahed Mansion.
