Fire breaks out at Mymensingh power grid again
Earlier, on September 8, another fire broke out at the same grid substation.
A fire broke out from a transformer of a grid substation at Mymensingh's Kewatkhali power station at 10am on Thursday.
"On information, two units of Fire Service rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control within 30 minutes," said Abul Hossain, deputy director of Fire Service and Civil Defence, Mymensingh Division.
AKM Tajul Islam Khan, the assistant engineer of Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB), said, "Power supply was restored in Jamalpur, Sherpur and Netrakona districts in Mymensingh division after being disrupted for one hour due to the fire."
"However, the power supply in the Mymensingh district is still snapped. Work is underway to restore that quickly," he added.
The assistant engineer further said that action will be taken after investigation the cause of the fire.
Earlier, on September 8, another fire broke out at the same grid substation. Following the incident, power supply to neighbouring Jamalpur, Sherpur and Netrokona districts faced disruptions.
