A fire has broken out at the BDBL Bhaban at Karwan Bazar in the capital on Sunday morning.

Confirming the matter, fire service duty office Mahfuz Riben said, "The fire originated at 6:50am and four units of fire fighters managed to bring the fire under control at 8am."

However, he could not confirm about the reason or the extent of damage caused by the blaze.

"The fire started from a wire hanging outside the building and suddenly spread to the air conditioners (AC) outside of different floors," according to security officials.

Security personnel and locals immediately tried to control the fire. Later, four units of the fire service brought the fire under control.
