Fines of TK 46,800 in Chattograam for violating Covid-19 lockdown rules

Chattogram district administration executive magistrate Fahmida Afroz fined Kutumbari restaurant at Wasser mor area Tk 30,000 for not following lockdown rules and serving customers.

She also fined two other institutions Tk 3,000.

The district administration led by six executive magistrates operated in different parts of Chattogram city on Thursday to enforce compliance with government directives. During these drives, fines totaling  Tk46,800 were imposed and 4500 masks were distributed, said a chattogram district administration press release.

According to district administration, executive magistrate Nibedita Chakma fined Tk3,200 and  filed six cases in the Kotwali and Sadarghat areas of the city. Executive magistrate Mohammad Enamul Hasan with his mobile court in the city's Double Mooring area, instructed the public to follow hygiene protocols and distributed masks.

Executive magistrate Md. Ashraful Alam conducted mobile court in the Pahartali neighbourhood and fined Tk1, 000 in one case, while executive magistrate Galib Chowdhury fined 9,600 Tk in 10 cases in the Court Building and Firingi Bazar area of the city.

Executive magistrate Md. Zillur Rahaman, with his mobile court in Patenga, EPZ, and the Bandar area, distributed masks among the people.
