FE Economic Editor Abu Anas passes away
He breathed his last at around 8:00am today
AZM Anas, economic editor at The Financial Express, died of heart attack on Tuesday morning in the capital. He was 45.
He breathed his last at around 8:00am today.
Azizur Rahman Ripon, senior reporter of the newspaper, confirmed the matter through a Facebook post.
Abu Anas was a member of the Jatiya Press Club, Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), and Economic Reporters' Forum (ERF).
He had been in journalism for more than 18 years.
Besides, he had written for global media outlets including - Nikkei, Reuters, The New Humanitarian and Atlantic.
He was the first Bangladeshi journalist to become the Gold winner of the 2019 Prince Albert II of Monaco and the United Nations Correspondent Association Global Prize for coverage of climate change.
He left behind his wife, one son, and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
