Every line of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's March 7 speech was quotable and timely, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today.

"In his speech, he gave all necessary directions and asked to form Sangram Parishad," the premier said at a programme organised by Awami League on occasion of historic March 7 speech at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital.

"The speech encouraged the freedom fighters during the Liberation War as well," she added.

Sheikh Hasina also said, "Whoever wanted to erase Bangabandhu's name, they should be ashamed."

The nation is observing the historic March 7 today commemorating the landmark speech of Bangabandhu which was considered as indirect declaration of the country's independence in 1971.

This year the observance of the day is more significant as the nation is getting ready to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 17.

The landmark fiery speech of Bangabandhu inspired the Bangalees to prepare for the War of Liberation.
