The UGC said this through a press release on Monday

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked the private universities to immediately stop taking examinations through online, stop the evaluations and not to enroll new students.

The UGC said this through a press release on Monday.

It said that the commission observed some private universities evaluated their students through online examinations and gave marks for their promotion to the next semester.

The UGC did not give any permission to conduct such activities and asked to immediately stop it.

It also prohibited enrolling new students to the universities.
