Satellite ground station inaugurated at DU
Academic and research activities on atmosphere, climate, meteorology, fisheries, agriculture and oceanography will be enhanced at the university through this station

Satellite ground station has been inaugurated at the Department of Meteorology of Dhaka University (DU).
Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the ground station as the chief guest at a function held today on the roof of Mokarram Hussain Khundker Biggan Bhaban of the university, says a press release.
Chairperson of the Department of Meteorology of DU Prof Dr Towhida Rashid presided over the inaugural function while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof Dr A S M Maksud Kamal and Treasurer Prof Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed were present on this occasion as special guests.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman said, Satellite Ground Station is a remarkable addition to the celebration of the Centenary of Dhaka University.
Teachers, researchers and students will be able to collect data and information regarding weather, environment, climate and atmosphere by proper utilizing this Satellite Ground Station, he added. Academic and research activities on atmosphere, climate, meteorology, fisheries, agriculture and oceanography will be enhanced at the university through this station, he mentioned.
