Eight months have elapsed since the results day but the results have not yet been published.

Rajshahi University master’s students of mass communication and journalism went on an indefinite hunger strike on Wednesday morning, demanding results to be published within due time.

“Our demonstrations will continue until the department meets our demands and announces when the results will be published,” a student said.

When contacted, Chairman of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism Abdullah Al Mamun said they were in a meeting discussing the issue.

“We will decide on a date for publishing the results and will make an announcement,” he said.

According to university policy, results are to be published within 60 days after examinations end. However, almost seven months have passed since the mass communication and journalism master’s examinations but the results are yet to be published.

The protesting students have alleged that the delay is due to teachers’ negligence.

However, the department has not stated a reason for the hold-up.
