Private universities asked to submit VC, pro-VC, treasurer candidate lists by Sept 10

The education ministry will take legal action if any university does not submit the names by the given deadline

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has asked private universities that have no vice-chancellors (VCs), pro-VCs and treasurers currently appointed to submit names of candidates to fill the vacant posts by September 10.

The minister said this while attending an internal meeting of the ministry, said a press release on Sunday.

Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, Education Secretary Mahbub Hossain and other high-ranking officials of the ministry were present during the meeting

The ministry will take legal action if any university does not submit the names by the given deadline, the press release added.

Currently, there are no VCs appointed at 19 private universities and 83 universities have posts for pro-VCs vacant.
