Mozammel Hoque joined Southern University Bangladesh in 2006 as head of the Department of Civil Engineering

Professor Md Mozammel Hoque has been appointed vice chancellor of the Southern University Bangladesh.

The country's president, Abdul Hamid, also the chancellor of the university, has appointed him for a four-year period.

Professor Mozammel Hoque was the founder vice chancellor of the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology.

Newly appointed, he took office on Thursday.

Founder of Southern University Bangladesh, Professor Sarwar Jahan, said, "A notification from the Ministry of Education informed us that the president has made Professor Md Mozammel Hoque, Southern University's vice chancellor for a four-year period. Following that notice, Mozammel Hoque took his office and we congratulated him."

Mozammel Hoque joined Southern University Bangladesh in 2006 as head of the Department of Civil Engineering.
