MBBS final professional exam postponed
The final prof exams were scheduled to be held on 4 April
All final professional examinations of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) of November-2020 and January-2021 in Dhaka University affiliated medical colleges have been postponed due to Covid-19 second wave across the country.
The schedule of the postponed examination will be informed later, reads a press release.
The final prof exams were scheduled to be held on 4 April.
The first and second professional MBBS May-2020 and November-2020 oral and practical examinations will be conducted as per the hygiene rules.
Amid the surging Covid-19 situation, Bangladesh government today imposed a 7-day countrywide lockdown, starting from Monday, primarily to stop the spread of Covid-19.
Despite the growing number of cases, The MBBS admission test for the 2021-22 academic session took place Friday.
Some 1,22,874 students are going to sit for the examination at 55 venues across the country for 4,350 seats in 47 government medical colleges.
Bangladesh reported record 6,830 new cases in the past 24 hours till Friday at 8am, with an alarming 23.28% single-day infection rate. The tally has reached 6,24,594 in the country.
The country also saw 50 new fatalities in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The death toll now stands at 9,155, with a 1.47% fatality rate.
