IUBAT observes International Mother Language Day

International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) on Sunday celebrated the International Mother Language Day with due respect in memory of martyrs of language movement.

The programme started through hoisting the National Flag at half-mast in the early morning by Prof Dr Abdur Rab, vice-chancellor of the university, said a media statement on Sunday.

The university's Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Hamida Akhtar Begum; its Registrar Professor M Lutfar Rahman, Deans, Chairs, Coordinator of faculties, students, officers and staff were also present there.

Marking the day, they honoured the language martyrs by placing floral wreaths on the Shaheed Minar in the university.

Later, a discussion was organised at the IUBAT auditorium to commemorate the language martyrs.
