International Education Week observed at EMK Center

EducationUSA at the EMK Center in the capital celebrated International Education Week 2020 regionally with India and Nepal, featuring 20 plus popular US universities to mitigate the gap in access to information on higher education preparation during the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the celebration from 10-26 November, almost 1,000 students were guided by directors of admission from different universities in Missouri, Florida, New York, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Arizona, California, Indiana, Texas, and Iowa in the USA, said a press release.
Topics ranging from application requirements to funding, scholarship scopes search, admission essay, finding PhD and latest changes in admission due to Covid-19 were discussed at the programme.
Two EducationUSA college prep cohort advisees from Bangladesh demonstrated the key consideration for a commendable university admission application. More than 8,800 Bangladeshi students are currently studying in the USA.
While inaugurating the programme, Isabelle Zsoldos, cultural affairs officer of the US Embassy in Dhaka, said, ''If you wish to explore the opportunity to learn, grow and live an alternative lifestyle, there are universities for you. The task is to find it, and we are there to assist.''
At the programme, professionals from a2i, the EMK Center, and GEIST International Foundation showcased how teachers can adapt to the rapidly changing academic and industry needs, and how they can capitalise their network to get ready for the future.
Mohammad Kabir Hossain, attached officer of a2i, said, ''a2i is expecting teachers to start practicing knowledge, skills, and attitude in their classrooms to ensure quality education.''
Teachers from 200 high schools and colleges from various parts of Bangladesh attended the concluding sessions to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.
At the programme, EducationUSA advisers provided information on how teachers can help students in achieving their higher education goals.
