HSC pass rate jumps to 73.93 pc

A total of 47,286 candidates scored maximum GPA-5 this year which was 29,262 in 2018.

73.93 percent students cleared this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Modi handed over the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence around 10:10 am on Wednesday. The chairmen of all the education boards were also present at the handover ceremony. Later, the Prime Minister unveiled the results digitally.

The pass rate in eight education boards is 71.85 percent, while 88.56 percent came out successful in madrasa education board and it is 82.62 percent in technical education board.

A total of 9,88,172 candidates among 13,36,629 students cleared the tests. Of them, 6, 64,496 are male and 6, 87,009 female students, according to the examination schedule.

All candidates got their results from their respective examination centres, educational institutions, websites of their respective boards and through SMS on their mobile phones from 2:00 pm.

HSC and equivalent examinations began on April 1 and concluded on May 11.
