ETCCE conference inaugurated at UIU

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni was present as Chief Guest

The two-day international conference on Emerging Technology in Computing, Communication and Electronics (ETCCE 2020) was virtually inaugurated at United International University (UIU) on Tuesday. 

The conference is technically co-sponsored by IEEE Bangladesh Section, and is jointly organised by the Department of CSE of United International University (UIU), Bangladesh and Faculty of Computing, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Malaysia, according to a press release. 

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni was present as the Chief Guest while Professor Dr Md Sazzad Hossain, member of  University Grants Commission (UGC), Hasan Mahmood Raja, Chairman, Board of Trustees, UIU, Professor Dr HM Jahirul Haque, Vice Chancellor, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, Professor Dr Kamal Zuhairi Zamli, Deputy Vice Chancellor, UMP and  Professor Dr Celia Shahnaz, Chair IEEE Bangladesh Section were present as Special Guests. 

Dr Dipu Moni said in her speech, "All these researches and technologies should be used by the country to build a 'Digital Bangladesh' and would play an important role in technological development and expansion. In addition to that she mentioned that universities should also continue working for the development of Cognitive (Knowledge), Psychomotor (Skill) and Affective (Attitude) attributes in students so that our next generations can lead the country and the globe as well."

The inauguration ceremony was chaired by Professor Dr Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of UIU. Welcome address is delivered  by Dr Md Arafatur Rahman, General Chair of ETCCE 2020 & Assoceate Professor, UMP. Prof. Dr. Salekul Islam, Head, Dept. of CSE, UIU is another General Chair in this conference. At the end of this ceremony vote of thanks was delivered by Professor Dr Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman. The program was anchored by Professor Dr AKM Muzahidul Islam, Dept. of CSE, UIU. 

In ETCCE 2020, a total number of 285 papers were received from more than 21 countries (e. g. USA, UK, KSA, UEA, Bangladesh, Malaysia etc.). Each paper was reviewed by expert reviewers to ensure the quality of the papers. Finally, only 60 Papers were selected for reular oral presentation in the conference. The rate of acceptance is only 21%. All submissions went through a careful anonymous review process (3 or more reviews per submission). This year's conference includes 5 keynote speeches 3 invited talks. In these two days, the conference continues with 11 technical sessions on scientific research of various topics.
