About 13 lakh students are expected to sit for the exams that were scheduled to start from April 1

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni will brief the media today through an online platform about the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, 2020.

The briefing is set to start at 1pm, said a press release.

About 13 lakh students are expected to sit for the exams that were scheduled to start from April 1.

On 16 March, the education ministry issued a statement announcing the government's decision to keep all educational institutions and coaching centres shut for March 18-31, taking into consideration the students' safety amid the pandemic.

Classes have remained suspended since then, although the administrative activities of the institutions resumed gradually.

The government extended the closure of all educational institutions in the country till October 31.
