DU set to celebrate 50th Victory Day

The authorities of Dhaka University (DU) have taken various programmes on the occasion of the celebration of the 50th Victory Day on Wednesday, 16 December, 2020.

This year, the day will be celebrated on a limited scale amid coronavirus situations following the hygiene rules.

The programmes include hoisting the national flag at the main building of the university including the Vice-Chancellor's building at 6:15am.

At 7:05 am, a procession led by VC Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman will lay a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar.

In addition, prayers and supplications for the souls of the martyrs and for the prosperity and progress of the country will be offered in various halls and mosques, including the Central Mosque of the university after Johr prayer.

The university campus has been decorated for the occasion.

A mural will be inaugurated at Dr Muhammad Shahidullah Hall at 4pm.

Prof Akhtaruzzaman will inaugurate the mural as the chief guest.
