The university administration will not be liable if any harassment or injury occurred at those places, the notice said.

The Chittagong University (CU) authorities imposed embargo on travelling in some places on the campus without permission.

The embargo was issued by the Proctor office on Tuesday.

The notice said that the university administration is concerned about the safety of the students, as the number of muggers has increased in various places of the campus recently. Since the university has a big area and lacks adequate security, ensuring 24-hour safety is very difficult.

The notice also said that students are being specifically requested not to travel some risky places including Chalanda Giripath, Jharna, Teletalk Hill, the hill behind Shaheed Abdur Rob hall, faculty of science and faculty of biology without permission of the authority.

The university administration will not be liable if any harassment or injury occurred at those places, the notice said.

CU Proctor SM Monirul Hasan said, "We have forbidden students to go to risky places without permission of the authority for their safety. Hopefully, theft and extortion will be reduced in the campus."
