College principal jailed for taking exam breaching Covid rules

A mobile court has jailed a college principal for 10 days in Bhawal of Gazipur for taking examinations in person violating the pandemic guidelines.

Abdullah Al Zaki, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Gazipur Sadar, conducted the drive on Monday noon and handed down the punishment.

Ubaida Ali, upazila education officer of Gazipur Sadar, said despite instruction for not holding any class or examination during coronavirus pandemic, Mirzapur Public School and College principal Abdul Kaium was taking examination of some 200 students at a classroom of the college on Monday, when the nation was observing the Martyred Intellectuals Day.

On information, UNO Abdullah Al Zaki went to the college and jailed the principal for 10 days.
