BRACU Hult Prize on Campus finals held
The champions Aliya Fairuz, Rifa Tamanna, Nayara Noor and Salwa Rafi will now go on to compete in a regional round with their idea on biodegradable plastic.
Team Shurjomukhi's social business pitch on biodegradable plastic made from seaweed became the champion of Hult Prize On Campus organised by Brac University.
The second prize went to a pitch on a water-saving high-tech nozzle, while the third prize was given to another social business idea on the efficient stove, said a press release.

The Hult Prize On Campus is an initiative of Hult Prize Foundation. The start-up accelerator promotes social business ideas. It holds the competition in several stages, including regional and global rounds.
The event opened at BRAC University (BRACU) on October 9. It was organised by BRAC Business School (BBS). A total of 40 teams joined the contest.
Four teams made it to the finals at BRAC Centre Inn in Dhaka on Saturday. The jury board comprised BRACU Acting Registrar and BBS Dean Professor Mohammad Mahboob Rahman and Associate Professor Sebastian Groh, Paper Rhyme, Managing Director AZM Saif, Kazi IT Center Limited Country Director and CEO Zara Mahbub and Startup Dhaka Founder and CEO Mustafizur Rahman Khan.
