Brac University has achieved substantial growth both in domestic and international student enrolment, even at a time when many observers have been predicting a decline in student numbers due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The university has enrolled a higher number of students than last year from home and abroad in 2020, says a Brac University press release.

In the summer and fall semesters, the university saw increased student recruitment in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, compared to the last year and 120 new international students have enrolled in the fall semester alone, said a press release on Sunday.

After conducting online admission tests, Brac University ran the two semesters with the help of its newly launched online learning platform "buX" for both domestic and international students.

Following the shut down in March due to Covid-19 pandemic, buX and Student Assistant Fund (SAF) was launched for the summer and fall semesters.

Brac University Vice-chancellor Prof Vincent Chang said, "Our students are our top priority. We are continuously developing ourselves to ensure the best student experience. It is our intent that with SAF and buX, we leave no one behind."

He also noted that the university administration will work together to put it 'on the map of international higher education' in the next fewest possible years.
